4. Who Would Be The Audience For Your Media Product?


Above in a profile of James, a typical member of our primary audience. He also briefly introduces his sister who is a member of our secondary audience.

Our secondary audience consists of females, again between the age of 16 and 25. These females enjoy seeing strong female characters and so would be attracted to our film through the character of Leora.

As you saw from the above character profile, we have quite a broad primary audience of 16-25 year old British males. 

Teens and young adults made up around 25% of the cinema-going population in 2012, as shown below, and these are the members of society that we targeted.



Older viewers often look for different things in films. They often prefer more mentally challenging ideas and themes, rather than a simple, action filled storyline. For this reason we knew that we should put little funding and effort into targeting this audience as it would not be worthwhile.
